Long Term Care Costs
The following shows representative annual premiums for $150/day, 60 day waiting period, 5% compound inflation benefit, 5-year benefit period with nursing home and home health care benefits at various ages.
- Issue age 50 - $ 1380/year - Issue age 55 - $ 1684/year - Issue age 60 - $ 2346/year - Issue age 65 - $ 3133/year - Issue age 70 - $ 4595/year
Other optional benefits such as home health care are available for an additional premium. As in any estate planning situation, individuals who have been successful in accumulating an estate should be careful in planning for taxes and long term care costs.
